TITLE: Business Manager, full-time, 12-month position

LOCATION: Manhattan, Kansas

DESCRIPTION:

  • Manage department fiscal operations including daily management and accounting of all income and expenditures.
  • Manage and track the operations of appropriated, restricted fee, grant, and KSU Foundation accounts.
  • Control revenue and expenditure of funds for state organized research, OOE, Federal Hatch and regional research, state and federal extension projects. Monitor and review day to day expenditures.
  • Enforce fiscal management policies and procedures as mandated by KSU and the State of Kansas. Review and implement changes in procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Budget management and accounting for affiliated programs and centers.
  • Grant Coordination: manage account expenditures, adjust budgets, cost-sharing, procurement of equipment, all while meeting grant deadlines and requirements.
  • Human Resource Management: manage payroll for faculty, staff and students.
  • Create an environment that fosters diversity and collegiality while working in a multi-cultural setting.

TITLE: Assistant Professor, Agricultural Economics, 9-month appointment, tenure-track - EXTENSION

LOCATION: Manhattan, Kansas

DESCRIPTION: Areas of emphasis may include, but are not limited to farm management, agricultural finance, production economics, agricultural marketing, or agricultural policy. Specifically, the areas of emphasis of this position could include the economics of cattle and dairy production in a face of increased water competition, the economics of livestock disease and food safety in conjunction with NBAF (National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility) and the BRI (Biosecurity Research Institute) other livestock economic issues, the economics of cropping systems including such items as the economics of water, energy from agriculture, the economics of technology including precision agriculture and big-data, and the interaction of agricultural and environmental policy with firm decision-making. Other issues possibly could include agricultural and environmental policy analysis or cash rental rates and values of pasture or crop land. The specialist will cooperate with Extension agents and state/area specialists in the Department of Agricultural Economics and various other departments in the college of agriculture and communicate research needs and findings appropriately. The goal of this position is to develop an integrated research-based outreach program that focuses on the economics of livestock or cropping systems under changing water availability, and variable climate conditions.

TITLE: Assistant Professor, Agricultural Economics, 9-month appointment, tenure-track - GLOBAL FOOD AND AGRICULTURE

LOCATION: Manhattan, Kansas
