Research Focus | The cattle industry and their use of antibiotics faces a great deal of public scrutiny. In response to this, the FDA is putting in place new laws that require a Veterinary Feed Directive to feed antibiotics to livestock. I am researching the economic effects the VFD will have on veterinarians and producers in the cattle industry.

National Science Foundation Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship Program (IGERT)

Research Focus | My research interests include natural resource and environmental economics, behavioral economics, and social economics. I am currently working on a project seeking to maximize the usable lifetime of the Ogallala Aquifer by better understanding the heterogeneity of aquifer users. I am also continuing work on my master’s thesis, which is concerned with the role of motivation in maintaining healthy diets.

Research Focus | My current research focuses on the dynamical effects of policy, climate change, and technical change on natural resource use and depletion. In my dissertation I explore these effects in the case of groundwater use and aquifer depletion when the common pool resource externality is present in the context of irrigated agriculture. My interests include topics in Production Economics and Land Use Economics in addition to Environmental and Natural Resource Economics. I am also interested in collaborative research in a multidisciplinary setting.
